The Jamestown Area Midget Football League is looking to fill some board positions.  We would like letters of interest before our next meeting which is February 18, 2007.  Letters can be sent to Sylvia Opdahl,  31 Hallock St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
 

Playoff Saturday Football Action

10/25 - Frewsburg defeated Westside 18-14:  Frewsburg finished the season strong behind the great blocking of the offensive line.  Nick Long had a 74 yd TD run, and finished with 11 carries for 152 yds.  Derick Smith had a 20 yd TD run, and finished with 15 carries for 120 yds rushing.  Dylan Ownbey reached paydirt with a 5 yd run.  Caleb Eckman and Ownbey each had a fumble recovery.  The Bears defense was led by Long with 12 tackles, Zach Haller had 7 tackles, Colin Anderson and Ownbey had 5 tackles each.  The Westside Panthers air attack was led by Joshua Calwell, and Patrick Schmelzinger with a 35 and 45 yd TD pass.  Calwell passed to Dylan for a 2 pt. conversion.  Honorable mention for Westsides defense, Hunter Peterson and Patrick Schmelzinger. 

10/25 - Northside JVs defeated Westside JVs 31-20:  The JV Northside Warriors won the Midget Football Championship by defeating the Westside Pathers 31-20.  Behind a solid offensive line anchored by Donovan Carvahlo and Xavier Sommerville, Zac Kinsey piled up 228 yards and 3 touchdowns, and James "Cookie" Rohas contributed 159 yards and 2 touchdowns.  The story of the game however, was the Northside defense, which managed to keep Westside's high powered offense in check.  Tyler Coulter led again with 9 tackles.  Jovian Maisonet, Alex Shoup, Tommy Wofford, Richard Williams, and Bannon Eimiller rounded out the solid performance.  Graham Davis led Westside's offense with 2 touchdowns and 125 yards rushing on 20 carries.  Defensively for the Panthers Adam Gullo led the way with several tackles.

10/25 - Fredonia defeated Southside 22-8:  Fredonia came out hitting hard on offense, with Nick Johnston, Weston Ley and Cameron Voss each scoring a TD, while Hunter Halberg and Dylan Meyer each added extra points for the Billies.  The Fredonia defense played tough once again with Alex Lopez, Tyler DiRusso and Nick Formanowicz leading the way.  Michael Pucci also contributed knocking down a pass and intercepting one.  Southside fought and hit hard the whole game.  Devin Kent scored a TD, while Jonathan Healey added an extra point.  With the win the Fredonia Hillbillies finish the year undefeated(8-0) and win the Jamestown Midget Football League Championship!

10/25 - Southside JVs defeated Falconer JVs 48-18:  The Southside Bluedevils won the League B Championship led by a balanced rushing attack. Devan Jackson 8 Carries for 150 yds 2 touchdowns 2 extra point plays. Devan Jackson finished the season with 1758 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns in 8 games. Corey Jackson had 200 yds 3 touchdowns. Nick d' Angelo had a 65 yard touchdown run. Southside was led on defense by Jorge Torres and Jordan Olds with 10 tackles a piece.Falconer was led by Tyler Himes with 200 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns.
