10/17 - Dunkirk JVs
defeated the Southside JVs 38-19:
At the
slush covered Strider Field, the Marauders defense forced 10 fumbles
and recovered 6. Evon Hernandez (16), Austin Polowy(9)and Jaziah
Riviera (7) were relentless around the ball and led in tackling.
Luke Mleczko was a force recovering three fumbles inside the tackles
and made a 4th down tackle/takeaway that took momentum away for the
game. Tyler Matoon, Ryan Promber, Jayden Correa, Ray Johnson and
Ryan Collins all put in awesome defensive efforts. On Offense,
JaQuan Allen proved again that "he loves the turf field". He
gallopped through the slush and sleet for over 190 yards and 3 TDs
and also caught a Devaun Farnham quick pass zipping another 48yds to
the endzone. The blocking was machinelike on both of the 65 yd TD
runs with Darnell Butts, Alex Majka and Nathan Ganey creating the
passageways and Chris Williams, Casey Surma and Tyreek Buchanan-Ruiz
leading through the defensive midfield. Tyreek also took a zig zag
path to the endzone on an electrifyng 46 yard dash. Devaun Farnham
played virtually mistake free at QB and also took in a bootleg for a
TD and conversion.

- Northside JVs defeated Dunkirk JVs 34-14:
The
Northside JV squad defeated Dunkirk 34-13. For the victors, Jovian
Maisonet ran for 139 yards following the blocks of Mark Maldonato.
Noah Larson added a TD along with his 85 yards, and James Rohas ran
for 1 TD and caught 2 TD passes. Ryan Holdridge threw the TD to
Rojas. Defensively Dakota Lewis and Chris Whitford led the way with
6 tackles, and Trey Spencer had a late interception. For Dunkirk,
JaQuon Allen had 2 TD rushes of 53 and 37 yards. Jaziah Riviera and
Tegan Raynor had 6 tackles and a fumble recovery.

- Dunkirk JVs defeated Cassadaga JVs 20-0:
DEFENSE
- The whole defense played tough as Cassadaga held the ball almost
the whole 3rd Quarter and didn’t score, the drive ended with a
Jaziah Riviera interception. Teagan Raynor had a dominant day with
two QB sacks and was in on ten other tackles. Luke Mleczko also has
a big fumble recovery and was tough inside the tackles and Nate
Kaczor also recovered a fumble. OFFENSE - JaQuan Allen had one
carry, a 66yd TD to start the scoring and caught a TD pass from
DeVaun Farnham, ending with a great stiffarm into the endzone.
Chris Williams carried the ball for 73 yards and scored on a 28
yarder to round out the scoring. Casey Surma had two offensive
fumble recoveries in the Dunkirk end with some heads up play.
9/26 - Southside JVs defeated Dunkirk JVs 47-37:
DUNKIRK DEFENSE - Evon Hernandez had a nice pass defense, breakup.
Andrew Vetter had a tough 4th down tackle for a 2yd loss.
DUNKIRK OFFENSE - JaQuan Allen had a big day running and recvng(3TDs
& Rec 8 catches & 2 TDs). He also made a crushing block on Ruiz TD
run. Devaun Farnham made some great passes and scored on a bootleg
of 48 yds with a nice end block by Casey Surma. Ty Buchanan-Ruiz
scored on a 65 yard run.
9/19
- Dunkirk JVs defeated Westside JVs 32-28:
ON DEFENSE - Raymond Johnson made a GAME
SAVING 4th down tackle on Westsides' Korbyn
Nelson. Evon Hernandez made a great
diving/wrestling INT and Austin Polowy made
a couple of one on one tackles on the
outside that could have gone the distance.
ON OFFENSE - Tyreek "The Tornado"
Buchanan-Ruiz had TD runs of 12, 14, 17 & 2
yds for a total of 240 yds rushing and
JaQuan Allen added 139 yds and made some
great blocks downfield. For Westside,
Korbyn Nelson ran for 4 TDs and had 271 yrds
rushing, while on Defense, Justice McGrady
had 7 tackles and Brandon Kightlinger made 6
tackles and a fumble recovery.
9/12
- Dunkirk JVs defeated Falconer JVs 24-13:
ON DEFENSE - Jaziah Riviera made a TD saving
tackle. Gabe Hadley delivered a 4th down
solo tackle and Evon Hernandez was all over
the Falconer offensive backfield. ON
OFFENSE - Tyreek Buchanan-Ruiz had TD runs
of 55, 73, 78 yds with a total of 202 yds
rushing.
9/5 - Southwestern JVs defeated Dunkirk
JVs 20-14:
The SW Spartans JV team moved to 2-0 on
the young season defeating the Dunkirk
Marauders in a hard faught battle 20-14 this
past Saturday night. The Spartans offense
was led by the hard running and 3 touchdown
performance of Graham Josephson. Other backs
providing a a spark for the Spartans offense
were Brandon West, Brian Burns and Jake
Ferrari while Mason Kubinski chipped in with
real nice 2 point conversion catch to finish
the scoring for the victors. An often
overlooked player of the game was center
Jacob Thorp, who made great strides in
practice this week, and the Spartans offense
didn't fumble a single snap. Leading the way
for the Spartans defense were safety Zander
Dorman, who had 4 tackles three of which
were TD saving tackles, LB Nate Priester had
7 tackles, 3 for losses, DT John Earing and
LB Andrew Calabrese had 5 tackles each, 2
each for losses. For the Marauders Jaquan
Allen led the way on offense rushing for 72
yards and a touchdown and he also caught an
80 yard pass for a TD as well. The Dunkirk
defense was led by Teagan Raynor's 9
tackles, 5 for losses, Austin Polowy's 8
tackles, 4 for losses and Andrew Vetter
chipped in with 4 tackles and recovered a
fumble. Overall the game was very well
played by both teams, an effort both coaches
were very proud of.
8/28 - Dunkirk JVs defeated Fredonia JVs
25-20: Dunkirk's offense was led
by Chris Williams with 1 TD for 18+ yds;
JaQuan Allen with 3 TD's for 150+ yds; and
Tyreek Buchanan-Ruiz with the extra point.
Lucas Voss led Fredonia's offense with 3
TD's and assistance from Brendan Plaister.
Azeem Zaidi did the blocking in the
backfield with QB Reed Tarnowski scoring
both extra points. Offensively
Dunkirk's Evon Hernandez made the game
winning inerception. Teagan Raynor, Andrew
Vetter, Walter Casey, Austin Polowy and
Jaziah Rivera all did well on defense. Jake
Green recovered Fredonia's fumble and shut
down Dunkirk's offense in the 2nd half with
help from Dawson Rafan, Noah Fleckenstein
and Cole Tippens. |
