10/27 - Cassadaga JVs defeated Westfield JVs 6-0:   On a cold and breezy Monday evening Westfield and Casadaga squared off for Westfield's final JV game of the 2008 season. The first play from scimage for both teams resulted fumbles, first Casadaga then Westfield gave the ball right back. The game went all the way to the fourth quarter with no score, with less than 4 minutes to go Casadaga punched it in for 6 and the extra point try was no good. Westfield had one more chance but turned the ball over and Casadaga ran out the clock winning 6-0. Penalties again proved to be the undoing of Westfield with 2 first and goals called back, and another first down inside the 20. Westfield was led on Offense by #7 Brent Morrison, #12 Tyler Wright and #8 Trey North. Deffensive leaders were #76 Josh Warner, #12 Tyler Wright, #7 brent morrison, #57 Josh Eppinger, #8 Trey North and #14 Scafer Eimers. Good job this season everyone and no matter what continue to to improve your individual game  Coach Morrison

 

10/18 - Salamanca JVs defeated Westfield JVs 14-6:  The Westfield Wolverines JV squad traveled to Salamaca for thier last regular season game. The two teams battled to a 0-0 half time score. Midway through the third #7 Brent Morrison connected with #39 Justin Hunt for a big gain that resulted in 1st and goal from the 2, 2 plays later #89 Ryan Deland punched it in for six and the PAT attempt was snapped by #75 Caleb Lawson held by Morrison and Kicked by #76 Josh Warner.During Salamaca's next series Westfield was flagged for pass interference on a uncatchable ball which kept  Salamaca's drive alive and resulted in 8 points.From that point forward the referee's controled the outcome. The standouts for Westfield were, Offense #89 Ryan Deland, #39 Justin Hunt, #19 Alex Underwood and #7 Brent Morrison. On Deffense #53 Mason Samonia, #11 Austin Eimers (Int), #81 Anthony Leone (Int), #7 Brent Morrison, #12 Tyler Wright. Final Score 14-7 Salamaca.

 

10/11 - Falconer JVs defeated Westfield JVs 12-6:  The Westfield JV's lost another close game 12-6 against the visiting Falconer Falcons. The offense was led by #89 Ryan Deland with 122 yards on the ground followed by #19 Alex Underwood with 37 yards. The defense was paced by Mason Samonia #65, #12 Tyler Wright and #46 Justin Hunt with 3 Tackles each Hunt also added 8 assists, #50 Dan Dulong recorded 6 assists as did #57 Josh Eppinger with 2 solo and 6 assists. The JV Wolverines travel to Salamaca this Sat for their last regular season game.

 

10/4 - JFK JVs defeated Westfield JVs 14-7:  The game started in Westfields favor with # 76 Josh warner and # 53 Mason Samonia blocking a punt that was picked up by # 57 Josh Eppinger and ran in for 6, the extra point try was snapped by # 75 Caleb Lawson, Holder # 7 Brent Morrison and kicked by # 76 Warner and was good.  The offense was killed by turnovers (3 fum,1 int) and penalties that killed drives. # 7 Morrison connected with three different recievers # 81 Anthony ( Bubba) Leone, # 89 Justin Hunt and # 11 Austin Eimers for around 70 yrds Tyler Wright # 12 had 30 yrd rushing. The defense played Solid  Standouts for Westfield were # 8 Trey North, # 53 Samonia, # 76 Josh Swinehart, #7 Morrison and # 75 Caleb Lawson with a Int. The JV Wolverines will face off with Falconer Sat morning in Westfield.

 

9/27 - Southwestern JV defeated Westfield JV 38-7:  Evan Watson was the offensive player of the game for Southwestern with a 52 yd scamper for a touchdown and a 73 yd pass reception for a touchdown.  Also scoring offensively for SW was Jim Rauh with a 13 yd run.  Rauh went 4 for 6 passing for 176 yds.  The defense was led by David Tapia with 7 tackles and Alex McCandless with 5.  Jake Swan intercepted 2 passes returning one for a touchdown.  The special teams also contributed to the scoring by Jake Currie blocking a punt and Dan Austin recovering it in the endzone.

 

Southwestern came to Westfield Saturday morning and rolled right on through.  With very well executed plays on both sides of the ball and a few mistakes by the Wolverines, the Trojans put up 32 points by the half.  After the half, Westfield put together a drive right after a scary injury to their fullback, Mason Samonia.  Alex Underwood had a TD run (PAT #7 Morrison holder #76 Josh Warner kicker was good) #39 Mason Samonia was later released from the hospital, and the final score was 38-7.

9/20 - Silver Creek JVs defeated Westfield JVs 18-15:  Westfield JV's suffered their first loss of the 2008 season on Sat in Silver Creek to the Black Knights 18-15. Westfield was down 12-0 and came storming back to take the lead 15-12 after #89 Ryan Deland scored the second TD behind the blocking of the o-line, #7 Brent Morrison ran in for the 2 point conv. with 2:12 to go in the 4th. Silver Creek put together one more drive and scored to end the scoring at Silver Creek 18 Westfield 15.

9/13 - Westfield JVs defeated Allegany Limestone JVs 13-0:  Alleghany-Limestone vs Westfield , The scoring started with #39 Mason Samonia breaking into the endzone only to fumble but #19 Alex Underwood was there to cover it for 6 and #76 Warner kicked the extra point, the other points came late in the fourth with #39 starting the drive with a 30 yrd run then #7 Morrison made a nice pitch to #8 Trey North who picked up a excellent block from #19 Underwood and #57 eppinger to spring him for a 50 yrd TD run, xtra point no good . The deffense played very good for the Wolverines allowing no points scroed against.

9/8 - Westfield JVs defeated Cassadaga JVs 14-12:  Cassadaga vs Westfield ,  Westfield scored first on a 2yrd QB sneak by #7 Brent Morrison extra point good kicked by #76 Josh Warner, Cassadaga answered with a kick returned for a TD extra point no good, with 2 sec on the clock before the half #7 Morrison connected with #19 Alex Underwood for a 52 yrd TD strike and again J Warner kicked the extra point to make it 14 -6 at the half . Cassadaga scored a lone TD in the second half but missed the extra point try and the game ended at Westfield 14 Cassadaga 12.  #12 Tyler Wright had a sack as did #57 Josh Eppinger, #7 Brent Morrison had 2 sacks.
