10/28 - Southwestern JVs defeated Maple Grove JVs 32-6:  The Southwestern JV team finished off its 2008 campaign with a scrimmage victory over the Maple Grove JV Red Dragons 32-6.  Offensively the Trojans were led by Evan Watson who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns.  David Tapia rushed for 32 yards and a touchdown and Jake Currie rumbled 42 yards for touchdown.  The defense was led again by Alex McCandless with 8 tackles and Jake Yartz who opened the scoring with a 30 yard interception return for a touchdown.  The whole team played extremely well not allowing Maple Grove to score until there were only 25 seconds remaining in the game.

10/25 - Southwestern JVs defeated JFK JVs 38-0:  The Southwestern JV team continued its unbeaten season on Saturday by defeating the JFK JV team 38-0.  Offensive leaders for the Trojans were Evan Watson who rushed for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns and Jim Rauh who ran for 57 yards and two touchdowns.  Todd Harris added a touchdown in the 3rd quarter to end the scoring.  The defense was led by Alex McCandless with 11 tackles but the game was won in the trenches as the Southwestern offensive and defensive line dominated the line of scrimmage. 

The JV team will finish its season Tuesday night at Charles A. Lawson field with a scrimmage vs the Maple Grove Red Dragons.

10/18 - Falconer JVs defeated Falconer JVs 40-6:  The Southwestern JV Trojans remained undefeated Saturday as they traveled to Bill Race field and beat the Golden Falcons 40-6.  Offensive leaders for the Trojans were Evan Watson, who had 125 yards and 3 touchdowns rushing and 66 yards and 1 touchdown receiving. Jim Rauh was an efficient 5 for 5 passing for 122 yards and Cody Fuller finished off the scoring for the Trojans with a 2 yard plunge.  The defense was led by Alex McCandless who had 8 tackles and by Jake Currie who had 7 tackles.  The JV season continues this week as the Trojans take on JFK on Saturday.

10/11 - Southwestern JVs defeated Salamanca JVs 40-20:  The Southwestern JV Trojans continued their undefeated season on Saturday with a 40-20 win over the Salamanca Warriors.  Offensive leaders for the Trojans were Jim Rauh who led the way with 137 yards on 8 for 12 passing attempts and who rushed for 42 yards.  Leading rusher was Evan Watson with 112 yards and leading receiver was Nick Austin who had 4 catches for 87 yards.  The defense was led by David Tapia and Alex McCandless who had 8 tackles each and by Riley Smith and Jake Swan who each had two interceptions, the final one by Swan was returned 42 yards for a touchdown.  Sam Gullotti also had a sack for the Trojans.  The JV team finishes out the regular season by visiting Falconer at 10 AM this Saturday morning.

10/4 - Southwestern JVs defeated Allegany JVs 30-0:  The Southwestern Trojans won their 5th game of the season to remain undefeated.  They were led on offense by Jim Rauh, who rushed for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns and went 9-17 passing for 63 yards.  Also scoring for Southwestern was Evan Watson with a 1 yard plunge and Todd Harris who ran back a punt return 61 yards for the touchdown.  The defense was led by Alex McCandless with 9 tackles and Justin Funcell with 6 tackles.  Recording sacks for the defense were David Tapia, Jake Currie, Dan Austin and Tom Torcivia.  Nick Austin had a interception and Karl Deck recovered a fumble.

9/27 - Southwestern JV defeated Westfield JV 38-7:  Evan Watson was the offensive player of the game for Southwestern with a 52 yd scamper for a touchdown and a 73 yd pass reception for a touchdown.  Also scoring offensively for SW was Jim Rauh with a 13 yd run.  Rauh went 4 for 6 passing for 176 yds.  The defense was led by David Tapia with 7 tackles and Alex McCandless with 5.  Jake Swan intercepted 2 passes returning one for a touchdown.  The special teams also contributed to the scoring by Jake Currie blocking a punt and Dan Austin recovering it in the endzone.

Southwestern came to Westfield Saturday morning and rolled right on through.  With very well executed plays on both sides of the ball and a few mistakes by the Wolverines, the Trojans put up 32 points by the half.  After the half, Westfield put together a drive right after a scary injury to their fullback, Mason Samonia.  Alex Underwood had a TD run (PAT #7 Morrison holder #76 Josh Warner kicker was good) #39 Mason Samonia was later released from the hospital, and the final score was 38-7.  

9/20 - Southwestern JVs defeated Cassadaga JVs 34-6:  Scorers – 1st Quarter - Nick Austin – 55 yd (receiving) TD from Jim Rauh – (PAT kick – Jake Yartz)  2nd Quarter - Jim Rauh – 2 rushing TD’s of 5 (PAT – kick failed) and 30 yds (PAT – pass failed)  3rd Quarter - Evan Watson – 75 yd K.O. return for TD (PAT – run by Rauh good)  Justin Funcel – 43 yd (receiving) TD from Jim Rauh – (PAT kick – Jake Yartz)  Leading Tacklers -   Jake Currie – 3 solo – 7 total  Justin Funcel – 4 solo – 7 total  Fumble Recovery – Tyler Uber  Interception – Jake Swan Sack – Dan Austin
