To Whom It May Concern,
When Chaut-Lake joined our league we drew names out of a
hat to form two divisions.
Each team would play division opponents twice and
non-division opponents once. This gave us seven
games and week eight would be playoffs in which division
winners would play for the league championship and
second seeds play and third seeds play. We also
put in place a tie breaker system. At our Sept
meeting I brought out the scenario of a 6 and 1 team
losing a tie breaker in division and having a team from
the other division playing for the championship with a
lesser record. After discussing this issue with
all teams in attendance, the decision was made to leave
the rules as is and address it next season. Bemus
Point won their division by tie breaker rules that were
adopted by every team in our league.
Sherman-Ripley won their division outright. These
teams did everything they had to do by league rules to
advance to the championship and deserve to be there.
I understand Westfield's fans frustration but to
change rules (that were in place before the season
started and addressed in the early part of the season)
would be unfair to teams that did what they had to do by
rule to play in the championship.
Thank You
